In the words of the Jamies, “It’s Summertime, Summertime, Sum-Sum-Summertime!” At 6:07 AM eastern time this past Thursday, Summer 2018 officially began, so on “Great Soul Performances” this evening, all songs will be about “Summer” from artists like: War, Kool & the Gang, Natalie Cole, Manhattan Transfer, James Brown, Sarah Vaughan, the Chantels, Richard Barrett, Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, Sly & the Family Stone, Nat “King” Cole, Miles Davis, Johnny Mathis (live) and others. The “Summer” music begins at 7PM ET, 6PM CT, 5PM MT & 4PM PT. Then it will be time for “Great Soul Performances 2: The 80s” where you’ll hear: The Trammps, Chris Rea, Barry White, Olivia Newton-John, the Four Tops, Kashif, Grandmaster Flash, Minnie Riperton & Peabo Bryson, Phil Collins & Phillip Bailey, Anita Baker, the Gap Band and more. That show starts at 9PM ET, 8PM CT, 7PM MT and 6PM PT.
