I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving Day Thursday, and now back to the music. This evening on “Great Soul Performances” we will once again present “Motown Remakes.” It’s always fun hearing the Motown catalog reinterpreted by the Motown acts themselves and by others. Also great to hear Pop and R&B songs remade by Motown artists. So join me at 7PM ET, 6PM CT, 5PM MT & 4PM PT for “Motown Remakes.” Next week we salute the fantastic “Blue-Eyed Soul” artists. All for you on RadioMaxMusic.com.
With Thanksgiving Day coming on this Thursday the 28th, this evening on “Great Soul Performances” all tunes played will have “Thanks,” “Thank You,” or “Thankful” in the titles. I thankfully look forward to your presence later at 7PM ET, 6PM CT, 5PM MT & 4PM PT. Don’t forget the encore performances on Monday at 10PM eastern and on Thanksgiving Eve, Wednesday at 12Noon eastern time. Let’s give “Thanks” for RadioMaxMusic.com.
Great Soul Performances (GSP) with Bobby Jay starts at 7pm ET. This week it’s Halloween! From Facebook: Halloween is coming up on Thursday October 31st, therefore this evening on “Great Soul Performances” we’ll celebrate “All Hallow’s Eve” with our Halloween Special at 7PM ET, 6PM CT, 5PM MT & 4PM PT. All the ghouls, goblins, spooks, werewolves, mummies, vampires, zombies and monsters will be in attendance in a very fun-loving way, but just in case, I’ll have a generous supply of wolfsbane, tana leaves, torches and chains if necessary, to ward off the evil spirits. I’ll see you later this evening, whatever you are, as I come forth from my crypt on RadioMaxMusic.com.
I hope everyone will tune in this evening to “Great Soul Performances” on RadioMaxMusic.com. This week’s show was pre-recorded because I’m in Lyndhurst, New Jersey hosting the outdoor Summer Concert Series there, so I can’t give you many details, other than it will be another great show with all the things you expect to hear. It starts at 7PM ET, 6PM CT, 5PM MT & 4PM PT. It’s been a tough week for me trying to cope with the passing of another of my brothers, Lewis Lymon on Tuesday. Next week I’ll do a small segment saluting the career of the last Lymon brother, Lewis.
Tomorrow is Father’s Day. I salute all my fellow fathers. It’s not always an easy job. I also like to say that, any male can be a “daddy,” but it takes a real man to be a “FATHER!” With that said, this evening on “Great Soul Performances” we’ll play songs that feature “Father,” “Papa” and “Daddy.” Along with our salute to the “Pater” of the family, we’ll also have music from Mary Wells, Lou Rawls, Earth, Wind & Fire, Marvin Gaye, the Delfonics, Etta James and others plus Curtis Mayfield “live in concert.” It all begins at 7PM ET, 6PM CT, 5PM MT & 4PM PT with an encore performance Monday evening at 10PM Eastern on RadioMaxMusic.com. It hope you’ll listen in and do something nice for Dad this weekend. -Bobby Jay
I want to say hello and wish a blessed Saturday to all my friends in New England. To Boston, Watertown and Cambridge, you were in our thoughts and prayers all throughout the most horrific week anyone should endure. As you try to get back to some sort of normal life again, I invite you to join me this evening for “Great Soul Performances.”
It’s time once again for “Motown Remakes.” A look at the tracks that Motown passed around between the artists on the roster; remaking the songs in the catalog, and the tracks that other Pop and Soul acts chose to re-record or cover.
Also we have the Motown talent remaking and covering the hit of artists outside the company. We always have a lot of fun with this special feature, which we present about four times a year. So join me at 7PM ET, with an encore performance on Monday evening at 10PM ET, for “Motown Remakes” on RadioMaxMusic.com.
This evening on “Great Soul Performances” we’ll feature George Benson, Norman Connors, Switch, the O’Jays, the Dells, Jean Knight in concert, Otis Redding and our tribute to the artists, singers, musicians and performers who passed away in 2012.
