Saturday 11/28/2020 1:15pm ET: Feature LP: Pat Benatar – Live From Earth (1983)

Live from Earth is the first live album by American rock singer Pat Benatar, and was released in October 15, 1983. The album was recorded during Benatar’s sold out ‘Get Nervous’ world tour in late 1982 and early 1983. It also contains two studio tracks, “Love Is a Battlefield” and “Lipstick Lies”, which were produced by Neil Giraldo and Peter Coleman. The album peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and shipped more than a million copies. “Love Is a Battlefield” was an international hit single and garnered Benatar her fourth consecutive Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance in 1984.

A concert from the same tour was filmed for a HBO special and released on VHS in 1985 with the title In Concert, but with a different and expanded track listing. The footage was re-released on VHS with the title Benatar the same year and in 1998 on DVD as Live in New Haven, without the last two tracks.

Patricia Mae Giraldo (born January 10, 1953), known professionally as Pat Benatar, is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and four-time Grammy Award winner. She has two RIAA-certified multi-platinum albums, five platinum albums, three gold albums, and 15 Billboard Top 40 singles, including the Top 10 hits “Hit Me with Your Best Shot”, “Love Is a Battlefield”, “We Belong”, and “Invincible”. Benatar has been nominated for 2020 induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Pat Benatar married her high school sweetheart Dennis Benatar at the age of 19 in 1972. The couple divorced in 1979. She has been married to her second husband, guitarist Neil Giraldo, since 1982. They have two daughters and live in Los Angeles, California. Benatar is a Roman Catholic.

Benatar recorded 12 studio albums, nine live albums, 27 compilation albums, 39 singles, and 34 music videos. She has sold more than 30 million records worldwide.
