She achieved success in Sweden after the release of her debut album Agnetha Fältskog in 1968, and reached international stardom as a member of the pop group ABBA, which has sold over 370 million albums and singles worldwide, making them one of the best–selling music artists in history and the second or third best–selling band in history.

On March 11, 2013 it was announced that the album called “A” and is produced by Jörgen Elofsson and Peter Nordahl would be released on May 13, 2013.  In the UK the first single “When You Really Loved Someone”. In Germany the first single was “The One Who Loves You Now”. The album includes a duet with Gary Barlow “I Should’ve Followed You Home”.
