This is Passover and Easter Week where we are hopefully with our families and doing a lot of spiritual reflecting. This evening, I want you to join me for some musical reflection on “Great Soul Performances,” where you will hear songs by: James Gadson with the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band, Tito Puente, the Temptations, Sam & Dave, First Choice, Dyke & the Blazers, Joe Tex, James Brown & Vickie Anderson, the Mighty Sparrow, Chuck Jackson & Maxine Brown, Pete Wingfield & the Olympic Runners, Freddie Scott, Buddy Miles; “live in concert” and more. We get underway at 6PM ET, 5PM CT, 4PM MT and 3PM PT with “Great Soul Performances.” I’ll be looking for you later this evening at the “Home Of The Hits,” RadioMaxMusic.Com. With Easter Sunday coming up this Sunday, that means that Monday April 17th is the start of “Beach Music Season” and our Monday show will be dedicated to “Beach Music.” Be here, or be square!
I’m really feeling my mortality today. Muhammad Ali’s passing on Friday, brings home the fact that my generation is beginning to leave the stage of life in increasing numbers. Ali was one of the most iconic figures of the 20th century, who’s talent both in and out of the boxing ring will never be matched. He could act, light on his feet; he was quite a dancer, he was an original rapper, he was a poet; and boy did he know it, and he even fancied himself a singer. So this evening on “Great Soul Performances,” we are going to salute and pay tribute to “The Greatest,” Muhammad Ali. You will hear Ali in his own words, which will be a nostalgic remembrance for those of us who grew up with him, and for those much younger people who weren’t blessed to have those memories, I think it will be an eye-opening (or is it, ear-opening) experience. You’ll also hear music from the likes of: Lou Rawls, the Supremes, Van Morrison, Jimmy Castor, the Temptations, Joe Bataan, Bobby Byrd, the Desires, the Emotions, Dyke & the Blazers and others. Our tribute begins at 7PM ET, 6PM CT, 5PM MT & 4PM PT. Muhammad Ali will forever be “The Greatest Of All Time!” Join me and let’s celebrate his life and career this evening on “Great Soul Performances” at the home of the “Greatest Hits of The 60s, 70s, and 80s,” RadioMaxMusic.Com.
Hey now hey, it’s Saturday and time once again for “Great Soul Performances” this evening where you’ll hear: Joe Tex, the Temptations, Vickie Anderson, Chuck Jackson & Maxine Brown, James Brown, Pharell Williams, Dyke & the Blazers, Jackie Wilson, Little Anthony & the Imperials, Barry White, Darlene Love; live in concert, and another installment of my conversation with the late Brook Benton. A lot on the plate today and I don’t want you to miss any of it, so join me at 7PM ET, 6PM CT, 5PM MT, and 4PM PT following the encore performance of last Sunday’s “Great Soul Performances 2: The 80’s” at 5PM eastern.
FYI: Next Saturday is the 4th of July and we’ll celebrate by partying and dancing at your favorite dance emporium with nothing but “Disco Music” on G.S.P.. So look me up later today where the legends of soul live, RadioMaxMusic.Com.
